On the plus point, we appreciated the fruits and sweet tray left in the room to welcome us and a note from Ryan Nicholls. This laundry bill actually cost more than the items washed! Also I was charged 50 pounds per person for breakfast per day even though when I placed my booking, a figure of 25 pounds per person per day was stated. On my bill, I was charged 49.50 for laundry which was exorbitant since I only washed a pair of trousers and a sweater. The tissue boxes in the bedroom were not replaced when both boxes were empty. The check in experience was less than satisfactory as the coloured gentleman was not easy to understand. The atmosphere in the breakfast room was horrible with kids running around and screaming making breakfast a less than pleasant experience. The staff seemed unable to cope with the number of guests and this was particularly evident in the breakfast room. I have stayed at the Fairmont Windsor on three previous occasions but this stay has fallen well short of expectations. An excellent stay and we’ll definitely be back! Also the accessibility to Windsor Great Park was perfect and in fact we walked to the Castle from the hotel. Check-in and check-out were exceptional, as was the service in 1215 bar who kindly stayed open for us to enjoy a drink when we returned from the Coronation Concert at Windsor. The filter coffee quality could also be much improved. To improve, we requested Nespresso pods for the in-room coffee machine, but none ever arrived, and at Sunday breakfast, there were not enough staff serving in Moreish so service was poor and some of the hot food items were cold. The spa was very comfortable and felt like a treat. The quality of the breakfast food both in the restaurant and through room service was excellent. The quality of the food in Moreish was good, and at a reasonable price. I hadn't noticed the Nashbar was 8 until you wrote that. Reply SprigsAndreas Additional comment actions Good point about the 8spd vs 3. From what I can see, you get a lot more bang for your buck with the Nashbar. The room was spacious, luxurious and hi-spec with panels to control heating, zonal lighting and curtains. It's got an 8-speed rear hub, as opposed to the Windsor's 3-speed. The staff worked as a team and nothing was ever too much trouble. Many guests were rude to staff members either being excessively demanding or ignoring the great kindness shown to them, but the response from hotel staff was highly professional and they served with great humility in every situation. We’ve stayed as several other Fairmont hotels and this certainly has got the calm, luxurious, spacious environment the others do, as well as not being pretentious.
